The food oil we usually have is pressed with a solvent to raise an extraction rate. There is no health damage caused by that oil because the solvent is removed after extraction process. However, this canola seed oil ”MAGODOSA” is made for the wish for eating our local food with minimum process.
Oilmans were in each village in the old days.
In Ichinoseki city, Iwate pref., there is a small food oil studio. There is just one master who is particular about pressing the high quality raw materials, facing to the oil in order to make the customers happy.
There have been oilmans in each village among Japan, and they have pressed the canola or sesame seed which was the crop of the local people.
Once the cheaper oil which is made by mechanical power or in other countries sold, local oilmans gradually disappeared.
In fact, this studio is not old.
"STUDIO ZIABURA(it means domestic oil in Japanese)" was opened 12years ago by the master and volunteers who felt a sense of danger for disappearing traditional food culture and wanted to pass it down to generations.
"MAGODOSA” means "for grandchildren".
He brings customer’s smile into his mind and keeps pressing the oil of Canola seed which is 100% domestic crop with the traditional method every day.
