Kakitagawa river’s natural springs
Kakitagawa river’s natural springs is located in Shimizu-cho, Sunto-gun, Shizuoka.
It is said to be the greatest natural waters in the East which pours out 1 million tons a day formed 8500 years ago.
In addition to abundant water, stable water temperature about 15 degrees celcius through the year and drinkable quality is highly estimated. It is selected as one of the 100 Best Natural Waters of Japan.
The blessings of fine water that is the source of health and longevity
The spring water of Kakitagawa river has an origin of underground water of Mt.Fuji.
It has a small amount of carbon dioxide and minerals such as calcium, magnesium, and iron. You will never mind the kalk smell like the drain water supplied in urban areas which sources is the river.
Strong preferences developed by the spring water
The eels in Mishima are famous for the taste, there are a lot of restaurants in the town.
The eels are kept in the natural water before cooking for a week to be spat out bait or mud remaining in their stomach.
Also, the surplus fat is disappearing and the meat texture becomes better. It is said that the quality of the food is changed by the quality of water, Eel cuisine is exactly based on the blessings of spring water.
Wasabi, or Japanese horseradish, tofu, sake and shochu are also popular souvenirs which are made with the finest natural spring water.
Kakitagawa Park, located next to the National Route one
The space of healing spreads out right next to the the National Route one with heavy traffic. It is recommended place anyone from adults to children can enjoy. There are clean restrooms and wide parking lots, it’s a nice stop for refreshing on your drive.
